Name: Kylani Gaines

School: Riverside Poly

Sport: Track and field

Year: Sophomore

Noteworthy: Gaines claimed three individual titles at last week’s Inland Empire Championships hosted by Vista Murrieta. Gaines is a hurdles specialist, and won the 100-meter title with a wind-legal time of 14.91 seconds and the 300-meter crown with a time of 45.48. She ranks No. 8 in the state in the 100 hurdles and No. 13 in the state in the 300 hurdles. Gaines also brought home a title in the non-invitational varsity 100-meter dash. Gaines also competed in the long jump event and finished fifth in the final standings.
