When , and customers are keenly aware of , one remedy fast food restaurants can pursue is selling meals at a flat rate in boxes or combos.
“It is much harder for customers to detect how much the prices of each of those items have changed,” said , assistant professor of marketing at The Business School at Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Massachusetts.
Some chains, such as Taco Bell, specialize in combos. Others have been actively promoting them recently.
Here are some examples of combos and other deals that are currently being offered. Prices shown are either quoted on the chain’s websites or found by spot-checking individual locations and are likely to vary depending on whichlocation you’re visiting.
Burger King: Whopper Jr. Meal Duo includes choice of two sandwiches, two small fries and two small drinks for $10.
Carl’s Jr.: Current offers include the Double Take, two items and a drink for $5. Choices include Small Cheeseburgers, a Spicy Chicken Sandwich and fries.
Church’s Texas Chicken: A dinner for two goes for $12.99 and includes five-piece legs and thighs or tenders, two sides and two biscuits. To get the deal, visit the websites, go to the coupons page and select California. The coupon code is W230901. The offer runs through June 26.
Del Taco: A Crispy Chicken Ultimate Combo features two chicken tacos, a quesadilla and a drink. The price is around $9.99.
El Pollo Loco: A new $5 Pollo Bowl features shredded chicken and cheese.
Farmer Boys: The Bacon Big Cheese Box includes burger, fries and drink for $9.99. The Bacon Boy Box goes for $11.99. The offers will last until July 8.
Jollibee: A two-piece Chickenjoy meal includes a drumstick and thigh, one side, a soft drink and a mango peach pie. The price is around $13.
KFC: Current offers include Taste of KFC deals with two, four or six pieces, mashed potatoes and a biscuit at around $4.99-$20. The meat will be mostly drumsticks and thighs.
McDonald’s: Any size soft drink or frozen carbonated beverage will sell for $1.49 through Sept. 2.
Popeyes: Three-piece chicken tenders combos include a biscuit, side and drink for about. $7.99.
Sonic Drive-In: Crispy Tender Wraps are selling for $1.99.
Taco Bell: The Irvine-based giant has two meals and one Deluxe Cravings Box devoted to its new Cantina Chicken menu. Each features two items, a side, a packet of the chain’s new Avocado Verde sauce and a drink. Prices are $10.49-$11.99.
Wendy’s: At the chain that attracted a lot of attention in March for considering “,” Biggie Bags are currently going for $7-$8 and include a burger or chicken sandwich, chicken nuggets, fries and a drink.
Wienerschnitzel: A Chili Cheese Fries Burrito is featured for $1.99, and online coupons include two Chili Dogs and fries for $5.
