“For years we’ve made trips to Los Angeles, dreaming of creating something in its layered and ever-changing network of creativity,” Meow Wolf co-founder Sean Di said in a statement from the company. “Meow Wolf Los Angeles will stretch these cinematic horizons by weaving together an unpredictable tapestry of art, story and interactivity.”

Meow Wolf’s walk-through art exhibits that are equal parts imaginative and awe inspiring connect interactive worlds with underlying storylines that combine elements of escape rooms, selfie museums and immersive projection mapping experiences.

“This is more than an immersive experience,” Meow Wolf CEO Jose Tolosa said in a statement from the company. “Meow Wolf Los Angeles will blur the lines between reality and fantasy, inviting everyone to become part of a living, breathing spectacle.”

Meow Wolf Los Angeles plans to collaborate with local artists to create a “full sensory love letter to the Los Angeles art scene, its history and its legacy.” The L.A. outpost will incorporate thematic connections to Meow Wolf locations in Santa Fe, Las Vegas, Denver, Dallas and soon Houston.

Meow Wolf’s original House Of Eternal Return in Santa Fe received the THEA Award for Excellence in Connected Immersion from the Themed Entertainment Association — which typically recognizes the best new themed lands and rides from Disney, Universal, Six Flags and other theme parks.

The Meow Wolf artist collective opened its first permanent installation — known as the House Of Eternal Return — in 2016 in a spacious Santa Fe warehouse space. The mystery house with hidden passages is filled with large-scale walk-through art exhibits.

The trippy Omega Mart grocery store at Meow Wolf Las Vegas and the Convergence Station linking four alien worlds at Meow Wolf Denver both opened in 2021. Meow Wolf set its sights on Texas next with the Real Unreal in Dallas that opened in 2023 and a Houston location set to debut later this year.

Over the past decade, Meow Wolf installations have attracted 10 million visitors.
